Water Resistance of Continuous Glass Fiber or Long Glass Fiber Reinforced Nylon 6 Composites

摘要：采用熔融拉挤浸渍工艺，分别制备了连续玻璃纤维增强尼龙6复合材料(CFRTPA6)和长玻璃纤维增强尼龙6复合材料(LFTPA6)。对比研究了两种复合材料在水中浸泡前后的力学性能和阻燃性能。结果表明，CFRTPA6的饱和吸水率约1.7%，饱和吸水后，其力学性能(拉伸、弯曲强度及其弹性模量)保持率≥80%，水平燃烧速度＜100 mm/min，满足UL F1认证中关于高分子材料在户外环境下可长期使用的耐水性要求。LFTPA6的饱和吸水率约3%，饱和吸水后，虽然其水平燃烧速度＜100 mm/min，但力学性能保持率≤70%，难以满足UL F1认证中的耐水性要求。
Abstract：Continuous glass fiber reinforced nylon 6 composites (CFRTPA6) and long glass fiber reinforced nylon 6 composites (LFTPA6) were prepared by a method of melting pultrusion impregnation. Mechanical properties and flame retardancy of both composites in the condition of water immersing and immersed were compared. The results show that the saturated water absorption rate of CFRTPA6 is about 1.7%, after saturated water absorption, the retention rate of mechanical properties (including tensile strength and modulus, bending strength and modulus) still can stand at 80% or above more, horizontal burning rate of the composite is lower than 100 mm/min, which can meet the water resistance technology requirement of UL F1 certification for long-term use of polymer materials in outdoor environment. Saturated water absorption rate of LFTPA6 is about 3.0%, after saturated water absorption, although its horizontal burning rate is less than 100 mm/min, the retention rate of mechanical properties is not more than 70%, so that it can not match the water resistance technology requirement of UL F1 certification.
