Design of Backflow Pouring Injection Mould with One Mould and Different Cavities for Set-top Box and CAE Optimization Analysis

Abstract：Aiming at the production of two parts of a set-top box on the same machine, the injection mould design method of forming two different plastic parts in one mould with two cavities at one time was adopted, thereby reducing the number of moulds, improving production efficiency. Since the appearance of this product must not had gate marks, the pouring position was determined on the inner surface of the product, and the pouring form of backflow pouring pin-point gate was designed. The ejection mechanism and pouring system of the mould were designed on the side of the fixed mould, and a runner block was designed between the stripper plate and the moving mould template to transfer the melt from the nozzle plate into the cavity and realize automatic stripping. In order to overcome various defects in the product, the mould design was analyzed and optimized based on CAE technology, which solved the phenomenon of unbalanced injection, improved the forming quality of the product and shortened the mould design cycle. The test results show that the mould's cavity layout and structural design are reasonable, which can meet the mass production requirements of the set-top box products.
