Injection Mould Design of Rear View Mirror Frame for Commercial Vehicle

Abstract：Considering the structural characteristics of plastic parts of rear view mirror frame, a set of two-plate plastic injection mould was designed. The runner system, cooling system, cavity and core, angle eject structure and push out structure were designed. The injection moulding process of the mirror frame parts was simulated using Moldflow software. The results show that the mould can accomplish the injection, ejection and reset actions coherently. The cooling system and runner system meet the injection moulding process requirements, and the designed mold meet the action requirements as well. Parts free from defects such as shrinkage, porosity, or weld marks are produced according to the recommend mold structure and process parameters. The mold can be knockout, the runners can be easily removed, the appearance of the parts is smooth and clean, and the warpage error is within the permitted range. The designed mould is in good working condition and can meet the customer's requirements for the production of rear view mirror frames.
